Flix, a global mobility provider, is expanding its fleet with new buses. Thanks to a collaboration between the Spanish manufacturer Irizar, the Swedish company Scania and the transport partner UMSE, an Irizar i6 bus powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) is now in operation in the Czech Republic. The aim of this pilot project is to reduce diesel dependency and take a step closer to achieving carbon neutrality. The buses will refuel at GasNet's network of LNG filling stations.

We already have six of them and they contribute to cleaner and more sustainable truck transport. What are we talking about? Our LNG filling stations, of course. At first glance, they look quite different from CNG filling stations, which look like regular petrol stations. The LNG stations are dominated by a large white tank. Especially the stationary versions can be seen from a distance. Let's take a closer look at their technology.

The Czech leader in LNG for road freight transport, GasNet Group, has opened its sixth filling station. The filling station is located in Hradec Kralove in eastern Bohemia and serves gas trucks travelling on the D11 motorway, the main route from the Czech Republic to western Poland. As at other GasNet stations, drivers will be able to refuel with renewable bioLNG, which GasNet Group was the first in the Czech Republic to start selling in November last year.

GasNet, the largest domestic gas distributor and Czech leader in LNG for road freight transport, has launched sales of low-emission liquefied biomethane (bioLNG). This is the first time in the Czech Republic that truck drivers will be able to refuel with this unique renewable fuel. Compared to a diesel engine, bioLNG has up to 95% lower carbon dioxide emissions. There are currently around 70,000 heavy goods vehicles registered in the Czech Republic with traditional propulsion. BioLNG offers the only truly affordable and efficient solution to reduce the emission footprint and associated costs of emission allowances in this sector, which are due to start in 2027. BioLNG will be available at a total of six GasNet filling stations. The newest station, currently completed in Klecany near Prague, was inaugurated today by the Minister of the Environment of the Czech Republic, Petr Hladík, together with representatives of the company.

LNG truck drivers can also pay with DKV international fuel cards at our stations. We are expanding the payment options at our self-service LNG stations. In addition to DKV cards, you can also pay with the GasNet fuel card, bank payment cards and the Eurowag fuel card.

It is located in Mladá Boleslav near the D10 motorway, where drivers have so far used only a mobile station. GasNet has also put another LNG filling station into operation - this time a mobile one near the D5 motorway in Nýřany in the Pilsen region. GasNet continues the rapid development of the utilisation of LNG in road freight transport.
